Joseph J. Stransky, 80, a lifelong resident of the town of Kossuth, died early Saturday at the Holy Family Hospital in Manitowoc after a brief illness. Funeral services for Mr. Stransky will be held at the Saur Funeral Home at Kellnersville at 9:30 a.m. Monday and at 10 a.m. in St. Ann Catholic Church at Francis Creek. The Rev. Joseph Rauch will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Stransky was born in the town of Kossuth in 1872, and in 1899, he married the former Mary Pech in Francis Creek. The couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary four years ago. He was a carpenter and farmer by trade and a member of the St. Ann Holy Name Society.
Survivors include the wife; three daughters, Mrs. Archie Peltier of Mishicot, Mrs. Paul Benschawel of Reedsville and Mrs. John Jansky of Manitowoc; one son, Emil of Francis Creek; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
