Ivory Delois Boyer, son of the late John Franklin and Cora (Secrease) Boyer, was born October 13, 1921 in Ellsinore, Missouri and departed this life December 3, 2014 in the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. He had attained the age of ninety-three years, one month and twenty-one days. Ivory lived most of his life in the Ellsinore area. He was a timber worker and owned and operated the Ellsinore Pole Yard for many years. He also ran public auctions in several surrounding communities. He attended the Whites Mill General Baptist Church and the Ellsinore General Baptist Church. Ivory enjoyed hunting, fishing, going to auctions, working in his garden and watching his chickens. He loved visiting with family and friends. On September 15, 1943 he was united in marriage to Lorena Ocie Harris in St. Louis, Missouri. To this union four children were born. He was preceded in death by one son, Kenny Ray Boyer and one daughter, Karen Kay Clyburn. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Floyd and Allen Boyer and two sisters, Mae Gooch and Ruby Teason. He is survived by his wife, Lorena Boyer of Ellsinore; two children, Lonnie Boyer of Ellsinore and Conua Garrett and husband, Dale, of Ellsinore; four grandchildren, Misty Colyott, Dean Swigert, Christopher John Clyburn and Travis Garrett all of Ellsinore; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild, and many other relatives and friends who mourn his passing. A visitation will begin for the public at 11a.m. Friday, December 5, 2014 in the McSpadden Funeral Home in Ellsinore; with the funeral service following at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Tom Wilder will officiate. Burial will follow in the Whites Mill Cemetery.
