Garey was the son of Mitchell and Edna (Crowder) Franklin. He was a graduate of Noblesville High School and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and the Army Reserves for several years. During leisure times he enjoyed fishing and watching sporting events. He was a fan of the Colts, Pacers, and NASCAR fan. He is survived by two daughters, Mandi (Scott) Thomas and Misti (Matt) Thomas. He was also survived by six grandchildren. He asks that memorial contributions be given to Disabled American Veterans.
