Pamelia Jane Hill was born in Andrew County, Missouri, June 29, 1850. She was only four years old when she came to Doniphan county, Kansas, where the early years of her life were spent. She was united in marriage to John E. Manuel near Wathena, on April 17, 1873....It was during the year of 1885 that the family moved to Jackson county, locating on a farm three miles northwest of Holton, at which place they have resided ever since. Mrs. Manuel was converted to Christ and united with the Methodist Episcopal church. Mrs. Manuel departed this life June 9, 1919, her age being 68 years, 9 months and 10 days. She is survived by her husband, one daughter, Mrs. Alta Nuzman, one son, Elbert J., two grandchildren, Loren and Jane Evelyn Nuzman, and one sister, Mrs. Hannah. E. Hill. Those of the immediate family that have preceded her are a daughter, Lizzie and two brothers, Joseph and William Hill. Burial was made in the Holton cemetery.
