Howard D. Rizer 71, of 400 Delaware Ave., died at 1:15 a.m. today at Marion General Hospital. Previously he resided 40 years on Oak Grove Ave and was employed 43 years as a pipefitter by Marion Power Shovel Co. until retiring in 1968.
He has been a member of the Marion County Draft Board and Marion Civil Service Commision, MPS 25-Year Club and was a past president and financial secretary of Lodge 1949 United Steel Workers of America.
Originally he was from Logan County. His wife Martha (Lash) Rizer died in 1970.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Denzer Funeral Home. The Rev. Dwight Norris will officiate. Burial will be in the Marion Cemetery.
