Leonard Clark Wilson

Lansing

Leonard Clark Wilson, 83, of Lansing, Michigan passed away suddenly Tuesday 12/23/2014. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great grandfather. After graduating from Eastern High School in Lansing, he joined an Oldsmobile apprenticeship, worked for 38 years in the experimental machine shop, and also served as a sergeant in the Michigan National Guard. After retiring, Len used his talents to help people through the food bank and his church. He had an active lifelong interest in athletics, gardening, and travel, and was proud to have reached his 50th state a few years ago. Len loved telling jokes and had a great sense of humor to which any of his friends could attest. Although we will miss him, he will always be in our hearts and thoughts.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Julia Wilson; parents Ward and Thelma Swarthout; brother, Paul Wilson; and step son, Kim Dubois. He is survived by his half-brother, Ward Dean Swarthout; daughters, Denise (Hank) Logan, Arlyn (Stuart) King; and step sons, Steve and Dennis (Bonnie) Purdue.

Len was a modest man and had requested no memorial services be held.

In lieu of flowers, please consider contributions to the Greater Lansing Food Bank, PO Box 16224, Lansing, MI 48901, St. Mathews Lutheran Church, 2418 N. Aurelius Rd., Holt, MI 48842, or the charity of your choice .
