Born May 14, 1927, in Batesville, she was the daughter of Allie Crouch Hix and Sarah Elizabeth Isley Hix.
In the 1950’s she moved to California to find work and lived there until returning to Arkansas in the early 1990’s. She enjoyed bowling, karaoke, shopping, and visiting with friends and family. She was of the Christian faith.
Survivors include a sister, Beulah York of Ypsilanti, Michigan and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Gray Hix and Williard Hix; and eight sisters, Edna Hix, Georgia Campbell, Lucille Hunter, Winnie Lee Kirk, Mae McIlroy, Eulah Stubbs, Nina June Kimbrough and Betty Joe Garlin.
There will be a graveside service at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 3, 2015, at White County Memorial Gardens in Searcy, Arkansas under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville.
There will be no visitation.
