Will 1801-left NH never to return.
Nancy 1802-1833
hand maiden & personal servant of Martha Dandridge Washington
escaped from slavery in 1796
She lived as a fugitive slave for the rest of her life.
outlived her husband and children
In freedom she learned to read, and became a Christian.
she lived with Phillis & Nancy Jack for almost 25 years.
after the death of her husband Oney was unable to support her children, and moved in with the John Jack family, her daughters became Wards of the town and were hired out as indentured servants; he son William "Will" was apprenticed as a Sailor, he reportedly never returned to New Hampshire.
After the elder Mr Jack died, Rockingham Co NH donated firewood and other supplies to Oney & the Jack sisters, by then too old to work.
