Second Lieutenant Magee was the pilot of
B-24E Liberator #42-7240, serving with the
2519th Base Unit at Fort Worth Army Airfield,
Texas.

He was killed, along with seven other Army
airmen, when involved in a mid-air collision
with another B-24 (#42-6988) in the skies,
approximately five miles southwest of the
airfield during a training flight.

The other airmen killed aboard his airplane:

2nd Lt. Douglas M McAllister
2nd Lt. Walter D McPherson
Cpl. Fritz Waldal

And aboard 42-6988:

2nd Lt. Vauclain W Barnes, pilot
2nd Lt. Millard Jean Walline
2nd Lt. Frederick C Webster
S/Sgt. Everett A Gaines
