William Alfred Lockey
Bill Lockey, 92, of La Marque, was born in Weches, TX, on June 16, 1920, and began his heavenly life on November 10, 2012.

Bill, a Pearl Harbor survivor, enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1941 and proudly served his country on the U.S.S. New Orleans heavy cruiser during the Pearl Harbor attack on December 7, 1941, and continued his service throughout every major battle in the Pacific. Bill moved to La Marque, TX, with his family in 1947, opened La Marque and Texas City Plumbing Company, and was in business for over 50 years.

Bill was predeceased by his wives, Helen Jones Lockey of La Marque and Tracy Lockey of Victoria; his parents, William Andrew Lockey and Jessie Farrell Lockey of Crockett, TX; his sisters Eunice Gunter, Edith Forrer, and Jessie Daniels; and brother James Oliver Lockey.

He is survived by his sister Juana Boykin of Brownsboro, TX, and brother Dan Lockey of Arizona; his son William Floyd Lockey of Wheat Ridge, CO; his daughters Sharon Lockey Hobbs of Bayou Vista and Gayla Lockey Higdon of Victoria; five grandchildren, Matthew Lockey, Shannon Spence, Brad Hext, James Dickson and George Scott; and five great grandchildren, Nevaeh Lockey, Collin and Cole Spence, and Joe and Madi Hext.

His family will receive friends at James Crowder Funeral Home in La Marque at 10 a.m. with services following at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 14, 2012, with Rev. Leon Maxwell officiating. Burial will follow at the cemetery in Buffalo, TX.
