Samuel can be traced through successive U.S. censuses. He was born in Dennison, OH. In 1910 he was residing with his parents in Carnegie, Allegheny Co., PA. He registered for the WW I draft from Allegheny Co., PA. In the 1920 and 1930 censuses he and family were living in Akron and Hudson, Summit Co., OH. Sometime between 1935 and 1940 the family moved to Los Angeles, CA. In the 1940 census, his occupation was listed as Engineer, B.F. Goodrich Company. He registered for the WW II draft from Akron, OH, suggesting the move to California was considered temporary. It was not and he died in Los Angeles.

Kipp; also survived by five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Private services to be held, Forest Lawn-Glendale. Forest Lawn Mortuary. His ashes were shipped to Gnadenhutten to be buried with other family members.
