Johnny Redus, 78, of Gatewood, Missouri, passed away Sunday, January 11, 2015, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
Mr. Redus, son of Everett and Nancy (Arnold) Redus, was born February 27, 1936, in Gatewood, Missouri. He was a self-employed auto-mechanic. Johnny enjoyed traveling, woodworking and old cars and car shows.
On April 6, 1958, he was married to Linda DeMoss in Bakersfield, California, and she survives.
Also surviving are 3 children: Sherman (Carol) Redus of Gatewood, Nancy (David)Taylor of Myrtle, Missouri, and Holly Beegle and companion Mike Ellis of Pocahontas, Arkansas; 9 grandchildren, Brandon, John, Jason, Wesley, Megan, Jordan, Zach, Haley and Matt; 8 great-grandchildren, Carter, Madilyn, Kaydance, Hayden, Corbin, Evan, Jayden and Hadley; 3 sisters, Mary Ann Yock, Etta Dean Pullen and Virgie Redus; 5 brothers, Tony Redus of Pacific, Missouri, Clarence Redus of Wappapello, Missouri, Truman Redus of Sharon, Wisconsin, Joe Redus of Doniphan and Irvin “Buster” Redus of Gatewood.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Tammy Sue Barton, 2 sisters, Onie Hudson and Maudie Dodd, and 5 brothers, Hershel Vance, Gene Vance, Pete Redus, Raney Redus, Virgil Redus and Bennie Redus.
Visitation will begin on Saturday, January 17, 2015, at noon at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m.in the funeral home chapel with Brother Rodley Lewis officiating. Burial will be in the New Home Cemetery.
