Leo W. Burkart, 69, of R. 3, Sheboygan Falls, died this morning at St. Nicholas Hospital after an illness of three months.
He was born at Princeton on June 25, 1895, a son of the late Adelbert and Maryann Jaszczyk Burkart. He was married to Miss Erna Alberts of Brillion on Feb. 8, 1925. The couple resided in Sheboygan for about 40 years until moving to their present address about four years ago.
He was a World War I veteran and a member of the Quarter Century Club of Kohler Co., where he was employed until his retirement in 1960.
Survivors are his wife; one son, Donald, R. 3, Sheboygan Falls; one daughter, Miss Beverly Burkart, at home; one grandchild; two sisters, Mrs. Frances Brasted, Milwaukee, and Mrs. Catherine Jogodynski, Chicago, and two stepsisters and one stepbrother.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. George Catholic Chruch at Six Corners, following brief family rites at 9:30 a.m. at Dean Funeral Home, Sheboygan Falls. Rev. Richard Baer will be celebrant of the requiem Mass and burial will be in Sheboygan Falls Cemetery.
Friends may call at Dean Funeral Home after 4 p.m. Sunday. A vigil will be held at the funeral home at 8:15 p.m. Sunday.
