Radio Broadcaster. Born Sven Jonsson, he was Swedish Radio's first reporter and announcer when the company commenced to broadcast in 1923. He was considered a role model for the generations to follow, and did sports, radio commentaries, documentaries, children's programmes and was commenting all big events, including the Olympics. With his radio show "Barnens Brevlåda" (Children's Mailbox) he became "Farbror Sven" (Uncle Sven) to the Swedish people, which made him the most popular and famous radio figure at the time. The show went on from 1925 until 1975, and was broadcasted 1785 times, which is a record in Sweden's radio history. The Swedish Sports Radio has an annual award to his honour - "Jerringpriset" (The Jerring Prize) to credit the athlete of the year.
