Imogene Audrey Ford Kendle, 93, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away, Thursday, January 15, 2015, at Somerford House, Hagerstown, Md.
Born Wednesday, March 23, 1921, in Beaver Creek, MD, she was the daughter of the late Jacob A. Ford and the late Effie M. (Kauffman) Ford. She was preceded in death by her husband of 75 years, Harry Franklin Kendle, in 2012.
She was a member of Salem Reformed Church, where she served as church school superintendent and leader, and also served on numerous committees. Imogene's greatest joy in life was spending time with her family, cooking and living on the farm.
She is survived by her daughter, Terrace J. "Terri" Baker & late husband, Gerald "Joe," of Boonsboro, MD, daughter, Debbie K. Banister & husband, Paul, of Hagerstown, MD, daughter, Ann F. Bean & husband, Fred, of Carlisle, PA, son, Lynn Brent Kendle & wife, Paula, of Hagerstown, MD, granddaughter, Laura J. Mills, granddaughter, Patti A. Powers, granddaughter, Cathy J. Miller, grandson, Ben S. Kendle, grandson, Mark J. Kendle, granddaughter, Lindsey E. Banister, grandson, Robbie S. Bean, granddaughter, Betsy A. Bean-Shiposh, seven great grandchildren, six great great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by sister, Ruth J. Recher, sister Ethel A. Mitchell, brother, William H. Ford, brother, Albert V. Ford, sister, Bessie N. Gaver, and sister, Gladys F. Ford.
Services will be held Monday, January 19, 2015, at 3 p.m., at the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown, MD, with Pastor Stephen Wagoner officiating.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, January 19, 2015, from 2 to 3 p.m.
Interment will be at the Boonsboro Cemetery, Boonsboro, MD.
