Ethel Cuddy Barnett was the daughter of Loftus Cuddy and Helena Grace Brookman Cuddy of Cuyahoga, Ohio. On 5 January 1909, Miss Cuddy married James Mercer Barnett of Birmingham, Alabama. Mr. Barnett was the president, treasurer, and owner of Barnett Lumber Company in Birmingham Alabama. After the death of her husband, Mrs. Barnett went to Pennsylvania; upon her death, her body was returned to Birmingham for burial next to her beloved husband, James Mercer Barnett.
