Bonnie Jean York, 86, passed away December 11, 2014, in her home, which she dearly loved. She was a graduate of Capitol Hill High School. Bonnie was co-owner/ operator of the Village Swimming Pool on N. Penn., 1962-1974. She also co-owned/operated Big Beef BarBQ on the old Classen Traffic Circle, 1962-1977.

Bonnie was a very talented artist, as she instructed many adults in porcelain art for years, and enjoyed creating miniature houses. She loved antiquing. She knew how to find a diamond in the rough and create something very beautiful from it. Bonnie loved to dance and socialize, particularly to ballroom dance. She was definitely a "character" in her latter years and extremely "flamboyant," especially in her attire. She was the kind of person who would light up a room. Bonnie was a gentle, loving soul who will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be held at Vondel Smith North Monday, December 15 from 4 to 8 pm. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, December 16 at 1 pm at Rose Hill Burial Park.
