June attended Freedom schools and graduated from Freedom Academy. June married Kenneth P. Clark, and they shared 55 years together raising and being a part of their family. Although June was truly a homemaker, she was employed for many years at Monmouth Canning in Freedom and Stinson Canning in Belfast.
June was a person blessed with many talents, and is best remembered for her beautifully crocheted snowflakes, angels, and afghans. June was a lifelong Red Sox fan and enjoyed watching, re-watching, discussing, and especially attending games. Her loyalty to David Ortiz was blind and unwavering.
In her years following retirement, June loved to travel with family and friends. She enjoyed bus tours, adventures to different cities and resorts, and even simple day trips with Ken. Together, June and Ken enjoyed the challenge of maintaining a home where they would showcase their gardening talents.
June especially enjoyed her neighborhood and friends in Belfast. She was so fortunate to have a network that provided support, fellowship, exercise through swimming, walking, and attending church.
In addition to her husband, parents, and siblings, June was predeceased by a grandson, Raymond Ward and a son-in-law, Boyd Ward. She is survived by her children, Sandra Ward of Bucksport, Simone and her husband, Gary Sommers of Salem, NH, and Steve Clark and his wife, Dawn Tunstead of Veazie. June shared her unconditional love with 13 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Those who wish to remember June in a special way may make gifts in her memory to the Pleasant Hill Cemetery Association, care of Beverly Bradstreet, 196 Winslow Road, Albion, ME 04910. (Brookings-Smith Funeral Home & Bangor Daily News 1/20/2015)
