Hall of Fame Sports Broadcaster. From 1964 to 1967 and from 1971 until 1994, he served as the radio play-by-play man with the Boston Bruins. Born Robert Henry Castellon, he served with the United States Air Force and following his discharge, he attended Boston University and later the Leland Powers School of Radio, Television and Theatre. He began his career in Louisiana and returned to Boston in 1957 and during this period, he changed his name to Bob Wilson. In 1964, he took on duties as the Bruins' color analyst and following a three-year stint with a St. Louis television station (1968 to 1970), he succeeded Fred Cusick as the Bruins' radio play-by-play man. In 1972, Wilson called the action during the Bruins' Stanley Cup Championship season. In 1987, Wilson was honored by the Hockey Hall of Fame as the recipient of the Foster Hewitt Memorial Award for Broadcasters. He died of complications from lung cancer.
