Herbert Talbot, 61, father of Mrs. J. C. Ferguson, 1129 East Sharpe Avenue, died yesterday morning at his home in Mt. Juliet after an illness of three years.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 o'clock this afternoon at the residence by a brother-in-law, R. V. Cawthon, and burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Talbot, a retired railroad was born at Neely's Bend and was educated there. He came to Nashville before the first World War, and was a brakeman on the Louisville and Nashville Railroad.
He left the L&N line in 1920 and went to Zanesville, Ohio, were he was employed by the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad company.
Mr. Talbot left the railroads in 1932 and came to Mt. Juliet at that time.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Eunice Hudson Talbot; two daughters, Mrs. Ferguson, and Miss Martha Talbot, Mt. Juliet; father, J. H. Talbot, Mt. Juliet; and a sister, Mrs. R.V.Cawthon of Mt. Juliet.
