BEDEAU
Bedeau, Barbara Ann (Nevitt) age 78, of Mpls, was born Jan. 17, 1936 in White Earth, MN and passed away on August 31, 2014 at home with family.
She graduated in 1954 from Waubun High School.
From 1954 to1957, she was in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany.
She raised five children with her first husband before working as an advocate for Native American students.
She married Joseph Bedeau in 1981. They did everything together.
She retired from Robbinsdale District #281 in 1996 after 14 years, preparing students for graduation, and higher education.
In her retirement, she enjoyed friends and good health participating in the Wisdom Steps program, especially the road trips.
Survivors include three sons and two daughters from her first marriage, Jeff Murphy, Ted Murphy, Vince (Allie) Murphy, Mary (Ross) Hoffman, Karen (Ron) Degerstrom; 5 grandchildren, 5 great-grand-children, many nieces and nephews, and two sisters, Muriel (Raul) Alvarez, and Esther Jacobsen.
Preceded in death by parents, Viola (Nickaboine) and Don Nevitt, sister, Patricia, brother, Wayne, and husband, Joseph Bedeau.
A memorial service will be held on Wed., Sept. 10, at 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Eagles Club #34, 2507 E. 25th St, Mpls, MN 55406. A memorial feast will be held on Sat., Sept. 20, in Waubun, MN.
