Cody David Gensler (20), of Phoenix, Arizona, died unexpectedly Tuesday, January 20, 2015.

Cody was a wrestling enthusiast in high school, earned his GED and never failed to put a smile on his classmates face.

After high school he worked at well-known Auto Parts Manufacture for a year and after that he was a commended general laborer for a large tractor-trailer company, his work ethic could not be beat.

Cody is survived by his parents, Alli & Scott McIntosh and Marc Gensler, His 5 siblings; Stephanie Molzahn, Ciera McIntosh, Tyler McIntosh, Preston McIntosh, and Iain Gensler. His great grandfather Sam Combs, His grandparents; Cecelia Combs, Bob Porter, Earl & Gale Dyer, and Richard and Lynn Gensler, as well as His aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

His services will be held at Hansen Desert Hills Mortuary and Cemetery on Wednesday January, 28 2015.

Viewing will be from 4:00PM – 7:00PM with the service starting at 7:00PM.

Cody will be traveling to his hometown for his final resting place, in La Salle Michigan.

Cody David Gensler was born in Phoenix, Arizona on March 18, 1994. He was born from the union of Marc Gensler and Alli (Combs) Gensler McIntosh. Cody attended school in the Ypsilanti-Lincoln School District through the ninth grade. He later earned his General Education Diploma.

Cody was a hard worker and popular among his fellow co-workers. He was employed at Brose in New Boston, and then D&R Trailer Sales in Milan, before moving back to Arizona in October of 2014. Cody had visited the Vineyard Church in Milan and Compelled Church in Temperance with his family.

Cody was always fun to be around. He had a great sense of humor and just enjoyed hanging out. His favorite partners in crime were his brothers, sisters, and cousins, although he kept all of his family close. Cody had a passion for watching good movies and listening to music.

Cody David Gensler, age 20, of Phoenix, Arizona formerly of Monroe, Michigan passed away on Wednesday, January 20, 2015. His passing was preceded by his maternal grandparents and an uncle: Donald Combs.

To cherish his memory he leaves his loving parents: Alli (Scott) McIntosh of Scottsdale, Arizona and Marc Gensler (Kim Brancheau) of Monroe; paternal grandparents: Richard (Lynne) Gensler of Monroe; a maternal grandfather: Bob Porter of Arizona; maternal grandmother: Cecilia Combs of Arizona; maternal grandparents: Earl and Gale Dyer of Arizona; maternal great-grandfather: Sam Combs; four uncles: Scott (Sarah) Gensler Of Nebraska, Paul Gensler of Monroe, Danny Combs and Devon Combs of Arizona; two aunts: Valerie (Dave) Schaefer of Temperance and Danielle Combs of Arizona; a half-sister: Stephanie Molzahn of Phoenix; a half-brother: Iain Gensler of Dundee; three step-siblings: Preston McIntosh, Tyler McIntosh, and Ciera McIntosh all of Arizona, and numerous cousins.

Friends may gather from 10:00am until 1:00pm on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185. A Celebration of His Life will follow at 1:00pm also at Merkle’s with Reverend Tom Broyles, associate pastor of Compelled Church in Temperance officiating. Procession will follow to Roselawn Memorial Park in LaSalle for burial.
