"Mrs. Mary Lewis, wife of George W. Hyde, died at her home at Richfield Springs, June 28th, after many months of painful illness. She was a daughter of the late William H. Lewis of the old Lake House, on Canadarago Lake; and granddaughter of William Lewis, a well known hotel man in Cooperstown, many years ago. The funeral services were held privately at the home and conducted by the Rev. H. W. Crydenwise, of St. John's Episcopal church; and interment was made in Lakewood cemetery, Cooperstown. There survive the husband; daughter, Mrs. A. J. Pierce, of Saratoga Springs, Mr. Fredd McNaughton of New York; a sister, Mrs. August Kinne of Richfield Springs and a brother James O.---Our Richfield springs Reporter."
