Donald O. Seamans, 61, of Mettatuxet Road,Narragansett an engineer with WJAR TV for nearly 20 years, died Monday at home. He was the husband of Leah A. (Davol) Seamans.

Born in Providence, a son of the late Harold B. Sr. and Louise (Osgood) Seamans, he lived in Narragansett most of his life. He was a graduate of New England School of Electronics and served in the Coast Guard.

Mr. Seamans was a member of the South County Remote Control Airplane Club, the Narrow River Improvement Association and the Mettatuxet Yacht Club.

Besides his wife, he leaves a daughter, Karen Foley Simmons of Bangor, Maine; three stepchildren, Kelly A. Castro of Narragansett, Sandra J. Grilo of Cranston and George E. Castro Jr. of North Kingstown; a brother, Harold B. Seamans Jr. of Warwick; a sister, Nancy J. Pullis of Falmouth, Maine; and nine grandchildren.

A Requiem Eucharist was celebrated Saturday in St. Peter's-by-the-Sea Church, Narragansett Burial followed in Elm Grove Cemetery, North Kingstown.
