LAST OF NINE BORGLUMS IS DEAD AT AGE 80
Deceased Name: Mrs. Harriet Borglum Faidy
Mrs. Harriet Borglum Faidy, 80, of 3163 Cambridge av., long-time Chicago social worker and sister of the late Gutzon Borglum, internationally known sculptor who did the huge Presidential heads at Mount Rushmore memorial in the South Dakota Black Hills, died yesterday in Illinois Masonic hospital.
She was the last surviving member of nine children of Dr. John G. de la Mothe Borglum that also included Solon, a sculptor, and August, long time music critic for the Omaha World-Herald. The statue of Gen. Philip Sheridan at Sheridan road and Belmont avenue was executed by Gutzon Borglum.
Mrs. Faidy leaves three sons, Fjor and Igor, both Chicago designers of store interiors, and Renor of Louisville, Ky., industrial designer; a daughter, Mrs. Talma Hoff of Chicago, and four grandchildren. Services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. in St. Peter's Episcopal church, 621 W. Belmont av.
