Harold Edward Brady, son of Leonard E. and Jemima (Ault) Brady was born on October 6, 1927, in Marion, OH.

He graduated from Harding High School and then entered the Navy for a brief time at the end of the war. He then attended Indiana Weslyan University and went on to seminary at Naperville, IL. He received his Masters degree from the University of WI and his Doctorate in Ed. from the University of SD.

Harold was united in marriage with Mildred McGovern on August 29, 1948 in Mitchell, SD. The family moved from various states along with Harold's profession as minister and educator. After becoming a member of the FL United Methodist conference and serving three congregations he retired in 1991 and they moved to Sioux Falls.

Harold became an active member of First United Methodist Church. He also did "pulpit filling" at various churches in the area when needed. He filled that need for two years at the Turner County Presbyterian Church. He was also an Adjunct Chaplain for several years at then Sioux Valley Hospital. He sang in a quartet for many years in FL and one here in Sioux Falls, The Reverentials.

He enjoyed bowling and golfing. For many years before retirement was active in Rotary Club. He loved being surrounded by his family and close friends whether playing dominoes or talking, laughing and reminiscing.

Grateful for having shared his life are his daughters Barbara Stanley and her husband David, SiouxFalls, SD; Carol Brady and her friend Phil Moegenburg, Ft. Pierce, FL; two sisters Marilyn Severns, Marion, OH and Darlene (Narcus) Tsiliacos, Columbus, OH; three grandsons Chris(Jennifer)Stanley, Kyle(Mindi)Stanley, Eric(Christy)Smith; great-grandchildren Kathleen(Michael)Peysakhovich, Kegan Dewenhoegger, Arianna Stanley; great-great-grandchild Nina Peysakhovich; numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

Harold was preceded in death by his wife Mildred, his parents, two brothers Clifford and Robert, a sister and her husband Clara and Ray Stair, and brother in law Richard Severns.

The family wishes to thank the entire staff of The Inn on Westport for their dedication to consistently giving Harold such loving care during the years he lived with them. We also want to thank Dr. Burris and the staff of Select Specialty Hospital for the compassionate care given to Harold and also his family. Thanks to Sanford Hospice Cottage for their excellent and loving care during his brief stay, and transition to his Heavenly Home.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be given to the First United Methodist Church of Sioux Falls general fund.

Visitation will begin at 12 pm with the family present from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Thursday, January 15, 2015, at Miller Funeral Home, 13 & Main. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, January 16, 2015, at the First United Methodist Church with private burial at Woodlawn Cemetery.
