Funeral service for Clyde “Rudy” Rachal were Sunday, November 23, 2014 at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home with Kyle Clayton officiating. Interment with military honors followed at L. C. Weaver Cemetery in Campti, LA.

Clyde Rachal was born December 18, 1931 to Gus and Dona Rachal in Campti, LA. He married the love of his life on December 25, 1955. They had two daughters. He was blessed with three granddaughters; one grandson; eight great grandchildren; three brothers; five sisters as well as numerous nieces and nephews who all dearly loved him.

Clyde was drafted by the U. S. Army on February 21, 1952. He served in the 1st Company, 15th Infantry Regiment in the Korean War. He was wounded on February 17, 1952 defending his country that he loved so much. The following day he received 2 Bronze Stars and a Purple Heart for his valor.

Clyde was a true outdoorsman, enjoying fishing and hunting, especially frog gigging. He was an exceptional gardener especially when it came to growing roses.
