Mr. Bollinger was born June 21, 1916, in Hanover. He was the son of the late Charles and Cecilia (King) Bollinger.
He co-owned and operated Old Mill Inn in New Oxford with his wife Iris, retiring in 1981 after 35 years.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a lifelong member of Hanover Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2506, a member of Harold H. Bair American Legion Post 14 of Hanover, and a lifelong member of New Oxford Social Club, Hanover Moose Lodge 227, and McSherrystown Home Association.
Mr. Bollinger is survived by two sons, Frank Higgins and Kenneth M. Bollinger, both of Hanover; three daughters, Bary Auchey and Kim Peterman, both of Hanover, and Rebecca Laughman of New Oxford; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Harold Bollinger of Hanover; and a sister, Nadine Hoffacker of Hanover.
