Jennings: It’s with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Geneva A. Fuselier announces her passing from this life on January 31, 2015 at the age of 74. Geneva was born in Lafayette, La. to the late Louis Kenny Ardoin and the late Hilda Marie LeJeune Ardoin on November 17, 1940. Geneva farmed with her husband, Robert Fuselier, from the 1960’s until 1982. She also worked as a Food Server for Golden Corral, Mike’s, Donne’s, and Boudreaux’s. Geneva belonged to several organizations throughout her life; the Ext. Service at the Jeff Davis Parish Fairground, where she was the acting President’s assistant in coordination with the Jeff Davis Parish Fair and similar events located at the fairgrounds; the Catholic Daughters of The Americas, in the St. Lawrence Catholic Church Charter, where she held various officer positions during the 1970’s; the Home Extension Organization, Jennings Charter, where she held various officer positions from 1960 until the 1970’s , when Hathaway formed its own Chapter, she then held the office of President from 1970 thru 1980. Geneva was a very loving and kind person, she will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Geneva is survived by her two daughters, Ramona Ann Fuselier (Charlie) Berry of Oberlin, LA, Tammy Lynn Fuselier (Carl) Whittington of Fordoche, LA; one brother, Elroy (Phyllis) Ardoin of Ragley, LA; two sisters, Elaine Ardoin (Ted) Stockton of Hathaway, LA, Anna Ardoin Breaux of Maurice, LA; two grandsons, Wyatt and Garrett Whittington.

Geneva was preceded in death by her parents, Kenny and Hilda Ardoin; her beloved husband, Robert Lee Fuselier; one son, Wayne Keith Fuselier; one brother, Kenneth Paul Ardoin; one sister Lucia Jane Ardoin Fuselier.

Funeral Services will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Jennings on Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at 10:00 AM with Msgr. Ronald Groth officiating. Burial will follow in St. Ann’s Cemetery. A gathering of family and friends will be held at Matthews & Son Funeral Home in Jennings on Tuesday, February 3rd from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a rosary recited at 6:00 PM Tuesday evening by Deacon Mike Tramel. Visitation will resume on Wednesday, February 4th at 8:00 AM until the time of her service at 10:00 AM.

Carrying Geneva to her final resting place in St. Ann’s Cemetery will be Wyatt Whittington, Alton Ardoin, Brandon Chaisson, Jamie Hacknay, Caleb Matte, Elroy Ardoin, Greg Matte and Ricky Cormier. Honorary Pallbearers will be Garrett Whittington, and Michael Moore, Sr.
