Edward Madison Osterwind, 85, of Peshtigo, WI passed away on Tuesday, February 3, 2015, at the Renaissance of Marinette, WI. He was born on December 13, 1929, to the late Francis "Frank" and Lena (Olson) Osterwind in Bismarck, N.D.

Ed graduated from Halliday High School in 1947 and attended North Dakota State for two years. He went on to graduate from Moody Bible Institute in Chicago and Taylor University in Upland, Ind. Following graduation he went on to take language classes and was appointed, in 1955, to the Ivory Coast as a missionary.

On March 17, 1961, Ed married Inez Patz in Ivory Coast and together they served as missionaries until 1994. They retired to Peshtigo to be near family.
Ed was a member of Faith Baptist Church where he taught many classes and small groups. He loved to garden, especially growing flowers that he enjoyed donating weekly for decorating the church.

Ed is survived by his wife of 53 years, Inez;
son, David (Anne) Osterwind of Glendale, WI;
daughter, Renee (Gary) Johnson of Marinette, WI;
seven grandchildren: Caleb (Rachael), Mark, Olivia, Janna, Joelle, Zachary, and Kia;
three nephews; and one niece.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant sister Lillian; sister Frances (Nick) Dressler; and granddaughter Katie.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 6th at Thielen Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m. Additional time of visitation will be held on Saturday, February 7th at Faith Baptist Church in Peshtigo from 11:30 until time of service. Funeral Services will be held at 12 noon with Rev. David Selness officiating
