Funeral services were held Tuesday, October 9, in Elmhurst. Burial will be in Mount Emblem Cemetery, Elmhurst, Illinois.
Richard Henry Starzyk was born March 1, 1921, in Chicago, the son of Frank and Apolonia (Kietbasa) Starzyk. He graduated from Chicago High School in 1939. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was discharged with the rank of Sergeant. Following his discharge from service, he returned to Chicago. He married Laura Ellen Brauer on November 24, 1953, in Chicago.
Surviving are his wife, Laura; three daughters, Teri (Jeff) Schuman, Julie (Michael) Wagner and Ellen (Bob) Bachner; two sons, Rick Starzyk and Steve (Shirley) Starzyk; 11 grandchildren; Yvette, Nancy, Stephen, Jeffery, Jason, Sean, Garrett, Austin, Ryan, Korryn and Ronin; one sister, Florence Goodman of Chicago; and one brother, Fredrich Starzyk of Chicago.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Nancy Starzyk, one grandson, Patrick, one sister, Estelle Starr and one brother, Edward Starzyk.
