John was born April 25, 1926 in Chicago Heights to Lawrence and Mary Anello. He is survived by his daughters; Catherine (John) Cook, Wooster, OH, Jamie Holland, Naperville, Claudia Duffy, Crown Point, IN, son; Patrick Lomax, Las Vegas, NV, and Judy (John) Roach, Monument, CO, grandchildren; Kelly (Clint) Rosebush, "LCPL" Michael Roach, Shawn Duffy, and Lisa (Rick) Gabe, great-grandchildren; Heather, Brandy, Taylor, and Megan. John was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife Patricia, nee Morrison (1992), brothers; Sam and George. John was a graduate of Bloom Township High School, and a veteran of WWII. He retired from Ford Motor Company in Chicago Heights after twenty-five years of service. John was a member of Manteno Amvets# 107, American Legion# 13, and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post# 2825. He had a voracious love of learning, enjoyed meeting and being with people, and was loved by everyone who met him. His cheery personality and wonderful sense of humor contributed to the wealth of people who called him "loving father, grandpa, and dear friend." Visitation will be Wednesday, May 10, from 4:00-8:00 pm at Hirsch West End Chapel, 1340 Otto Blvd., Chicago Heights. Funeral Service will be at St. Agnes Church, Chicago Heights, Thursday, May 11, 11:30 am. Interment Assumption Cemetery, Glenwood, IL.
