Ruby May Ashcraft Mitchell, 83, of 3610 Green Meadow Drive, in Flower Mound, Texas, died October 23, 1998, at the Columbia Medical Center in Lewisville, Texas.

Born November 9, 1914, in Pansy (Cleveland County), she was a daughter of the Late Hattie and Della Shelby Ashcraft.

She was reared and educated in Cleveland County, where she attended Gravel Ridge School.

She moved to Houston in 1960’s and lived there for almost 30 years before returning to Arkansas.

She worked as a sales clerk for a Sakowitz Dress Shop for several years before retiring in 1981. In 1991 she returned to Pine Bluff, Arkansas, where she was a member of Forrest Park Assembly of God Church and enjoyed bingo and walking.

She recently moved to Flower Mound to live with her granddaughter.

Her parents, a brother, Troy Henry Ashcraft, and a daughter Polly Thurman, who died in 1991, preceded her in death.

Survivors include three sister; Mrs. Robbie Koonce, Mrs. Lois Spakes, and Mrs. Margie Floyd, all of Pine Bluff, Arkansas two grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled from 6-8 p. m. on Monday, at Robinson’s Funeral Home of Pine Bluff, Arkansas.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday at Ralph Robinson and Son Funeral Directors with the Rev. Rick Walls officiating.

Burial will be in the Rowell Cemetery, Cleveland County, Arkansas.
