Mr. Horace “Jack” Finchum, age 71, of Elkhart, passed away Monday, Feb. 9, 2015 at Elkhart General Hospital.

Jack was born Dec. 15, 1943 in Tullahoma, TN to the late Harris and Fannie (Pate) Finchum.

**Jack enlisted in the US Army, and served three tours in Vietnam.

He married the former Ms. Eljeana Goff in May of 1981. They celebrated 33 years of marriage.

Mr. Finchum was employed for many years as a sanitation engineer at HIMCO Waste away in Elkhart.
Jack was very family oriented and enjoyed cooking and baking. He loved to gather with his family and friends for meals, especially on holidays. He and his family enjoyed traveling to see family in Georgia, Missouri, and Tennessee. Jack loved watching Westerns, and spending time fishing. He was a longtime member of the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 19 as well.

Surviving is his
wife, Eljeana;
sons, Robert (Andrea) Finchum and Travis (fiancé Kim Cramer) Finchum;
daughter, Penny Jones;
sisters, Lois Traficante, Norma Finchum, and Patricia Jacobs;
several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his
siblings Carrie Brodrick, Virginia Miller, Rev. Roy Finchum, Harris “Bud” Finchum, Duane Jacobs, William Rice and Fred Rice.

Funeral services and military honors will follow at Chapel Hill Funeral Home with entombment in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
In his memory, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
