Major League Baseball Player. A native of Toronto, Ontario, Rosen made his major league debut on September 14, 1937, and played his final game on September 26, 1946. The 5'10, and 155lbs, Rosen played the position of center fielder for the Brooklyn Dodgers from 1937 to 1939, and 1944 to 1946, and the New York Giants in 1946. Rosen who was Jewish was one of the first Canadians of that faith to play in the major leagues. The other being Adam Stern of the Boston Red Sox. He was also the first Canadian-born baseball player named to the All-Star Game. Rosen passed away in Toronto, Ontario, on April 6, 1994, at the age of 81. He was inducted into the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame in 1984.
