Margarette Marina Elizabeth "Rina" (Berry) Hooper was born on September 16, 1856 in Dickson, Dickson County, Tennessee, the daughter of the Reverend Michael T Berry (1803–1888) and his wife Nancy Sarah A (Nesbitt) Berry (1825–1889).

She was married 1st as the 2nd wife of Sion Harrington Cearley (ca 1843–1893) on December 1, 1887 in Dickson County. She was married 2nd about 1896 as the 2nd wife of John Richard Hooper (1849–1923), the son of George Hooper and Elizabeth ( -- ) Hooper. [NOTE: Sion and his 1st wife Rebecca ( -- ) (Brown) Cearley had two daughters - Evy Cearley (ca 1871– ) and Carrie Cearley (ca 1875– ), who were grown when their father married his 2nd wife. Rebecca also had two Brown children - James Brown (ca 1860– ) and Samuel Brown (ca 1862– ).]

Living at 4707 Park Avenue, Nashville, Rina was 84 years old and a widow when she fell at home and broke her hip on November 13, 1940: She died at home of hypertensive heart disease on January 1, 1941 and was buried the next day in Spring Hill Cemetery, Madison.
