LEONA M. KUEHNL

Leona M. Kuehnl, age 92, a resident of Sacred Heart Court of Felician Village, Manitowoc, was guided to eternal life by a soft gentle snow on Saturday morning, January 28, 2012 surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on October 20, 1919 in Clarks Mills, youngest child of the late Joseph and Julia (Halverson) Hastreiter. Leona was a graduate of St. Mary Parochial Grade School, Clarks Mills, and also attended Manitowoc Lincoln High School. On January 12, 1938 she married Frank G. Kuehnl at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on October 9, 1989. Leona was the secretary/treasurer of F. Kuehnl & Sons Builders & Masonry Inc. of Manitowoc until her retirement. She was a member of the Catholic Women’s Club and a former member of the St. Theresa Society of St. Andrew Catholic Church, currently called the St. Clare Society.

Survivors include six daughters and four sons-in-law: Janice & Jerry Keehan, Karen Carlo, Mary Beth Karbon, all of Manitowoc, Laurie & Larry Langley, Havelock, North Carolina, Wendy & Porfirio Ortiz, Menlo Park, CA, Vicki & Kurt Pegel, Appleton; two sons and three daughters-in-law: James & Debbie Kuehnl, Steven & Rosa Kuehnl, Pam Kuehnl, all of Manitowoc; 17 grandchildren; 5 step grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; nine step great grandchildren. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.
Besides her husband, Frank, she was also preceded in death by a daughter: Sandy in 2007; an infant son: Randy in 1962; a son: David in 2009; a grandson: Korey Kuehnl in 2001; an infant great grandson: Jacob Cherney in 1998; three sisters: Delia and Anita in infancy and Sr. Marica (Nora) Hastreiter; a brother and sister-in-law: Ralph & Margaret Hastreiter and a son-in-law: Don Hall in 1970.

Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 Noon Monday, January 30, 2012 at St. Francis of Assisi on Grand, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian
Burial will be the Rev. Dan Felton with burial at Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc.
The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Francis of Assisi on Grand,
Manitowoc, from 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 30, 2012 until 11:45 a.m.
