Alexis America Rose Reddy, born 6/14/2009, died on 5/31/2011 as her family was moving into their new home on north 35th Avenue in Phoenix. Dearly loved daughter of father James Reddy, a disabled veteran born in Greeley, CO and raised in Phoenix, AZ, mother Nia Reddy, a new U.S. Citizen, born in Wales, sister of Joshua Lewis-Gray, as well as niece, granddaughter, and cousin to her family in the United States, Wales, and Australia. A sweet little angel, we will love and miss so very much. She was taken too soon, but we are grateful for every moment we shared with her. She was a gift from God. Thank you Alexis for bringing so much joy into our lives. Until we meet again, love you always Princess. We wish to invite all of those to have offered help to attend her memorial service Tuesday June 7th at 11:00 a.m. at North Hills Church, 15025 N. 19th Avenue, Phoenix, AZ. Donations to assist the family may be sent to Nia Reddy, C/O North Hills Church.

Alexis' story told by her mother:
Alexis America Rose Reddy was born in June 2009 here in the US. As a family, Alexis completed us. I absolutely adored having a little girl and Josh loved having a sister. As Alexis grew it became apparent she had a huge personality.

"She was so clever. She was extremely talkative and she was very musical. Alexis would hear a song once and almost know it by heart. I loved listening to her songs. Although Alexis was clingy towards me, she was fearless. She was such a confident little girl. I was so proud of her. She was extremely beautiful and getting more beautiful by the day. She was, and still is, my world."
Nia and James, 30, a war veteran, moved to Colorado when Alexis was 10 months old, but decided to return to Phoenix to be nearer James' family in May. "We had only been in Phoenix a week, when the terrible accident happened. Our house was still in boxes and we had not finished unpacking," she recalls. "There was so much chaos going on. I needed to run to the bank, so I left James at the house with the two kids. The children were playing in the front garden under James' care. When I was at the bank, James called me to tell me he needed to go out as soon as I got back.

"So I rushed back to the house, and as I pulled up in front of my house, before I could even get out of the car, James jumped in his truck and reversed out the driveway."

Alexis was standing in the driveway, and because James was in such a rush, he did not see her, and he hit her.

"She died instantly. At that moment, my whole world crashed. The love of my life had died. I didn't need to be told by the hospital staff my precious child had not made it. I knew it and I felt it. My baby was gone.

"Alexis died on May 31, 2011, two weeks shy of her second birthday. While I was supposed to be planning her birthday party, I found myself planning her funeral."
