Sarah "Sally" (Ferrell) Hudson was born on August 29, 1854 in Williamson County, Tennessee, the daughter of W D Ferrell and Sarah (Griggs) Ferrell.

She was married on November 2, 1869 in Williamson County to James Wesley Hudson (1850–1918), and by the time of the 1900 census they were divorced.

Living at 1002 West Eastland Avenue, Nashville, Sarah was 86 years old and a widow when she died at home of pneumonia on February 2, 1941.

Survivors included daughter Elizabeth "Betty" (Hudson) Tune, sons Erle Theo Hudson, John Hudson and Allen Hudson, brother Tom Ferrell, sisters Mollie (Ferrell) Woodard and Mattie (Ferrell) Peach, sixteen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren and two 2nd-great-grandchildren.

Funereal Services were held at Phillips-Robinson Funeral Home, and burial was on February 3rd in Spring Hill Cemetery, Madison {city, not county}.
