ss Vella Jane Davis, 90, of the Glenwood Park Retirement Village died peacefully Thursday, July 22, 2010, at her home. Born on November 6, 1919, on an East River Mountain Farm near Oakvale she was the daughter of the late Philip George and Grace Easter Davis. She was the Valedictorian of her graduating class from Oakvale High School and also graduated from the West Virginia Business College. After working in Coalwood as the office manager for Carter Coal Company she was called to become a worker in the Lord�s ministry. She devoted the next fifty years working in the South and Midwest as a Speaker for the Lord. She returned to Mercer County in 2000. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward and Donald and two sisters, Roma and Otella. She is survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous Brothers and Sisters in Christ. Funeral Services will be held 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, July 27, 2010 from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Speaker Bobby Sylvia officiating. Burial will follow in the Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery in Princeton. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday from 11:30 A.M. until the service hour.
