Musician and Singer. Born Christopher Harley, he will best be remembered as the lead singer for The Alan Parsons Project. In the early 1970s, he was involved in a band called Hopestreet, before recording his first album as Chris Rainbow. He released three solo albums, 'Home of the Brave' (1975), 'Looking Over My Shoulder' (1977) and 'White Trails' (1979), before joining The Alan Parsons Project, starting on their 1979 'Eve' album through to their 1987 album 'Gaudi'. During his time with The Alan Parsons Project, Rainbow also recorded and toured with Camel, contributing to 'The Single Factor' (1982) and 'Stationary Traveller' (1984), and also appeared on a couple of solo records made by Yes‘ Jon Anderson. Tracks from his solo albums are collected on 'The Best of Chris Rainbow, 1972–1980'.
