“Ruby” Lorraine Miracle was born in Middlesboro, Kentucky on May 29, 1935. She went to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on February 251 2015 Fortress Health & Rehab Center, College Station, Texas after a long battle with Parkinson's disease. She was the oldest of six children born to Rev, James Otto and Lillie Marie Yeary Miracle. Her maternal grandparents were William Thomas “W.T.” and Cordia Bell Fuson Miracle. Paternal grandparents were John E. and Matilda Arlena Edens Yeary all of Middlesboro, Kentucky.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her infant brother Lowell Wayne Miracle, brother James Otto Miracle, Jr. and his wife Rosa Turner Miracle, her grandparents and many aunts, uncles and several cousins.
She is survived by her sisters, Sharon Miracle Lawson (Wade) of Miamisburg, OH, Allene Miracle Sloan (Rev. Johnny) and Carolyn Miracle of Bryan. She is also survived by one maternal aunt, Jewell Yeary Wilson of Morristown, Tenn., as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Lorraine was a faithful member of the Rock Prairie Baptist Church, College Station, Texas. She was a former member of Dayton Baptist Templer Dayton, Ohio and Worth Baptist Church of Fort Worth, Texas, where she was a dedicated worker in the Toddler Department for many years. She was saved and baptized and grew up in the Red Oak Baptist Church, Middlesboro, Kentucky. She graduated from Middlesboro High School and attended three years at the Arlington Baptist College in Arlington, Texas. Lorraine was employed as a Civil Servant with the Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio during the Cuban Crisis where she held top-secret clearance with the Federal Government. She later moved to Texas and retired as a medical secretary from the All Saints Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas.
Lorraine was an avid reader, published writer, as well as a genealogical researcher into family histories on both sides of the family. She was a devoted great-aunt and delighted especially in the lives of Anna, Kamrey and Caleb who thought of her as “another grandma."
Celebration of Life services will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at the Rock Prairie Baptist Church in College Station. A private interment will be held at Bryan City Cemetery.
