Elizabeth Ann Banister Bayliss 92, formerly of McGehee, AR died March 6, 2015 in Hot Springs, Ark. She was born, April 14, 1922 in Gould, Arkansas to the late Coval Norton Banister and Lillian Cholista Butcher Banister.
"Sis" as she was known, as well as "Bea", was a telephone operator for many years and later retired from Southwestern Bell. She loved and cherished the time spent with family and friends and she always looked forward to holiday gatherings when all of her children and grandchildren surrounded her. Sis was a wonderful seamstress and spent many hours sewing for her girls. She loved her dogs, April and Toodles, and she loved the Razorbacks.
Elizabeth is preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Mercer "Flea" Bayliss, whom she married May 5, 1941 at McGehee, her parents, two brothers and one sister. She is survived by 4 daughters, and 1sister, nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. A graveside service was held Wednesday March, 11 at McGehee Cemetery.
