Lester R. Klingeisen, age 93, of 13524 Hwy JJ, Cato, died Saturday, March 24, 2012, at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay.
He was born on November 21, 1918, in Manitowoc Rapids, son of the late Reinhard and Anna (Vogel) Klingeisen. On September 22, 1945, he married the former Dolores M. Binversie at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, School Hill. She preceded him in death on April 17, 2009. Lester's life long passion was dairy farming. In his retirement years he continued to drive tractor and work the fields until the very end. Lester was a long time member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Clarks Mills and the St. Mary Catholic Church Holy Name Society. He was also an extraordinary minister of Holy Communion and a senior funeral server. Lester also volunteered his time at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center. He enjoyed dancing and was a member of the Happy Hoppers Dance Club with his sweetheart Dolores for many years. Lester also enjoyed playing cards with family and friends.
Survivors include five sons and three daughters-in-law; Fr. Richard Klingeisen, Manitowoc, Allen and Kathy Klingeisen, Reedsville, Reinard and Jodi Klingeisen, Sobieski, Joseph Klingeisen, Clarks Mills, Gerald and Debra Klingeisen, Cato, six daughters and five sons-in-law; Carol and Russell Schuler, Sheboygan Falls, Ann and Dan Eisner, Manitowoc, Susan Klingeisen, Kaukauna, Doris and Kenneth Eisner, Allenton, WI, Janice and Michael Lettenberger, Manitowoc, Mary Kay and Rick Hoffman, 26 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, one brother; Clarence Klingeisen, Manitowoc, one sister and brother-in-law; MaryAnn and Jack Preston, Manitowoc, three brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law; Herman Binversie, Robert Binversie, Stanley and Kay Binversie, Mrs. Eugene (Fay) Binversie, all of Kiel, three sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law; Irene and James Ziegelbauer, Virginia and Dean Brennan, all of Manitowoc, Janet Seichter, New Holstein. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.
Lester was also preceded in death by one brother and two sisters-in-law; Robert and Agnes Klingeisen, Irene Klingeisen, three sisters and three brothers-in-law; Lillian and Clarence Savage, Rosella and Wilfert Miller, Violet and Alois Schleis, three sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law; Florence Binversie, Janet Binversie, Leona and George Ziegelbauer, Eugene Binversie, infant brother-in-law, Roman. Lester was also preceded in death by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday March 28, 2012, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Clarks Mills. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. Richard Klingeisen and the Rev. David Zimmerman with entombment to follow at Knollwood Mausoleum.
The family will greet relatives and friends from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 27, 2012, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Clarks Mills where a prayer service will conclude the visitation at 8 p.m.. The visitation will continue on Wednesday morning March 28, 2012, from 9 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, Clarks Mills.
In lieu of flowers the family is requesting memorials be made in Lester's name to St. Mary Catholic Church, Clarks Mills or the church school in Clarks Mills.
