Actress. A star of the Mexican and screen, she shall be remembered for her career of more than 70 years. Born Maria Magdalena Guzman Garza, she took to show business early, making her 1941 silver screen bow in "Noche de rien casados". From 1948 until virtually the end of her life she worked steadily, twice being nominated for the Ariel, Mexico's equivalent of the Oscar, for 1954's "La Duda" and for the 1955 "La vida no vale nada". Being seen on virtually every television 'soap' and series, Magda transitioned from romantic leads to mothers, and finally to grandmothers and twice won the TVyNovelas Award, the Mexican Emmy, in 1986 for "To o nadie" and in 2011 for "Para volver a amor". She made her final cinematic appearance in 2011's "Vienes de animas", earned her last television credit on the award-winning 2012 "Amor Bravio", and died of heart disease. At her demise, many of her performances were preserved on DVD.
