Jon R. Litherland , 71, of Pleasant Plains, died Monday, March 16, 2015 at Memorial Medical Center. Jon was born May 17, 1943, in Springfield, the son of Kenneth R. and Eleanor Ruth Grider Litherland . He married Sondra Skaggs on March 6, 1982, in Pleasant Plains. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving during Vietnam. Jon started working as a roofer and later owned his own company as a private contractor. He was a member of Brea Baptist Church in Chandlerville. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters. He is survived by his wife, Sondra of Pleasant Plains; stepson, Todd (Lynn) Kahbeah of Springfield; brother, George (Kelly) Litherland ; two grandchildren, Nicole Richards and Kylee Kahbeah; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, March 23, 2015, at Pleasant Plains Cemetery with the Rev. Duane Turley officiating.
