Rock Musician. He was a drummer who will best be remembered as the drummer for the American heavy metal band, Twisted Sister. Born Anthony Jude Pero, he received his first drum kit at the age of 4, when his parents saw him playing on pots and pans. He took lessons and studied with a local jazz musician, and later with jazz great Gene Krupa. At the age of 7, he was invited to perform as a solo artist on the Mike Douglas Show, and at age 10, he played the Jerry Lewis Telethon, covering songs from jazz icons Charlie Parker and Dave Brubeck. After high school, he was offered the opportunity to join a well-known Tri-State area band called Twisted Sister. From 1982 to 1987, he recorded 6 albums and embarked on 4 world tours with the band which earned 32 Gold, Silver, and Platinum albums and singles, most notably 1984s triple platinum album 'Stay Hungry', which spawned two gold singles. In April 2011, he was chosen to serve as the national spokesperson for Fallen Blue, a non-profit organization created to provide emotional and financial support to families of police officers killed outside the line of duty. He joined Adrenaline Mob in late 2013 and performed on their last two albums. Pero, who was still a member of Twisted Sister, died in his sleep aboard a bus of an apparent heart attack while touring with Adrenaline Mob.
