John Sablotny, 76, of 2133 N. 8th St., died at 2:45 a.m. Sunday at St. John's Hospital.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Staab Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Hendricks officiating. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
He was born in Germany, the son of John and Barbara Neijkia Sablotny and resided in Springfield the past 50 years. He owned the Illinois Sweet Shop and later the Illinois Tavern, which he operated for 20 years, prior to retirement in 1948.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews.
