Mrs. Josephine Sablotny
Mrs. Josephine Sablotny, 70, of 2133 N. 8th St. died at 2:25 p.m. Thursday at St. John's Hospital.
She is survived by her husband, John.
Mrs. Sablotny was born in Germany the daughter of William and Barbara Jacsmen Viehweg and had been a resident of Springfield since Oct. 15, 1909. Prior to her retirement in 1948, Mrs. Sablotny and her husband operated the Illinois Sweet Shop at 725 North Grande Ave E. for four years and later they operated the Illinois Tavern at the same address.
She was a member of the Third Presbyterian Church and Women's Singing Society Auxiliary.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the Staab Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Hendricks officiating. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
