Mr. John H. Breedlove

Mr. John H. Breedlove of Cobb County, Atlanta, director of special projects for Home Depot, died of cancer Tuesday (Sept. 11, 1990) at Northside Hospital. He was 47.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. today (Sept. 14, 1990) at Peachtree Presbyterian Church with burial at Arlington Memorial Park, Sandy Springs, Georgia.

He was a graduate of Miller/Lanier High School, Class of 1961, Macon, Georgia where he was an outstanding athlete.

On May 29, 1965 he was graduated from The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, where he was a catcher on the baseball team and was the quarterback on the football team. He received a master's degree from the University of Georgia. Mr. Breedlove served in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War and was awarded a Bronze Star. He enlisted June 20, 1966 and served two years and was honorably discharged June 10, 1968. Surviving are his wife, Lydia Ann Kilgore Breedlove; three sons, John Breedlove, James Breedlove and Charles Breedlove of Atlanta; his mother, Louise Breedlove of Macon; and a sister, Marion Smith of Columbus (Georgia).

John attended The Citadel from Macon, Georgia in the fall of 1961. He was a member of Tango Co. of the Fourth Battalion. He was an Army contract cadet and a member of the football and the baseball team of which he was Co-Captain in 1965. He was a member of the "Block C" Club having lettered in football and baseball. He held cadet rank of Sergeant as a Junior and Second Lieutenant as a Senior cadet. He was graduated May 29, 1965 with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration.
